Introducing Jane Doe

With My Jane Doe's sweeping the nation, many of you have asked... Just who is Jane Doe?  I am Jane Doe.  My friends will tell you that I am “The Girl Who Can Turn any Group into an Impromptu Party.  I must agree that I do love a party.  I believe life is what you make it, and I make it fabulous!

Take last Friday, for example.  The whole evening turned into a party of three with just 2 phone calls (and maybe a few supplies from the pantry).

It was a long week.  A good week but a long week as running a baby business is a lot like what I guess running around with a baby would be like. I needed some retail therapy but with the thrill of a real hunt.  The solution: TAG SALE.

I love a good tag sale.  Some gals like a sale at Niemans or Target or wait for hours the day after Thanksgiving but give me a TAG SALE and I am in clover.  The fact is this -tag sales are not nearly as much fun alone.  After all, how does one even get to all the rooms of the house without a posse to divide and conquer?  Enter cell phone redial....2 phone calls to two of my best pals, who also love a deal on a dime, and viola! instant pre-preview party.

I might note that we added 1 bag of chex mix, 1 bag of my personal favorite “cheese” coated rice cakes (I cannot get enough of those cheese flavored rice cakes), and a glasses brimming with a lovely $8 bottle of Spanish red wine.

We relaxed from the week’s busy pace work and, upon finding that sweet spot of sufficient salubriousness (I was told that some might want the Merriam webste5r link to hear that one pronounced http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/salubrious ), we all headed over to the preview.  Carefully selecting only those glorious antiques that would transform any tract home into the rival of any Parisian pied-a-terre, we dreamed and pined.
Then, we scrutinized and priced out what the deals were, filed out of the house, and piled into the truck where we no longer had to whisper about our sale strategies. By the way, I am a  SOUTHERN lady and there is ALWAYS a gentlemen with a big truck somewhere in every good story.

We headed out to dinner where there were yarns spun and jokes told and I created the next party plan....the wrap party after My Jane Doe’s first TV appearance...www.whigtv.com...Monday at 6pm.  You are ALL welcome to come!  It’s at Chico’s restaurant in Rocky Mount, NC starting at 6:30.
